The Boston Global Forum and the Global Internet Governance, Digital Empowerment, and Security Alliance are collaborating to make significant contributions to the Global Governance of AI during the upcoming C20 Summit in India. With a shared vision of advancing digital empowerment, internet governance, and security, BGF and GLIDES will present a special report as part of the C20 Summit’s “Technology, Security, and Transparency” working group. This initiative aligns with BGF’s mission of promoting AIWS – “the Age of Global Enlightenment” – and reflects the C20 Summit’s theme of “You are the Light.”
The C20 Summit is an integral part of the G20 groupings and serves as an engagement platform for civil society organizations to voice their concerns and aspirations to G20 leaders. With over 800 representatives from civil society organizations worldwide, the C20 Summit plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between citizens and governments. Taking place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, 29-31 July 2023, the summit holds even more significance as India assumes the presidency of the G20 this year.
Boston Global Forum, known for its commitment and initiatives to fostering Global Enlightenment, will bring its expertise and insights to support the spirit of the C20 Summit’s theme, “You are the Light.” BGF’s collaboration with GLIDES through the C20 Summit’s “Technology, Security, and Transparency” working group will culminate in the announcement of a special report on Global Governance of AI. This report will provide valuable recommendations and strategies for governing the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence, addressing key aspects such as ethics, transparency, regulations, and accountability.

US lawmakers and CEOs alike say new rules are needed to prevent artificial intelligence from doing harm. So far, there are more wish lists than laws.
While there’s a very real question whether this is like closing the barn door after the robotic horses have fled, not only government types but also people who build AI systems are suggesting that some new laws might be helpful in stopping the technology from going bad. The idea is to keep the algorithms in the loyal-partner-to-humanity lane, with no access to the I-am-your-overlord lane.
The Boston Global Forum and the Global Alliance for Digital Governance are committed to contributing key concepts to the development of the Law of AI. Our aim is to formulate a framework that balances power dynamics and enables effective monitoring of totalitarian and dictatorial governments. In doing so, we can safeguard the values of freedom, democracy, and human rights in the age of AI, which we refer to as the Age of Global Enlightenment within the AI World Society. Furthermore, the BGF and GADG will provide a forum for dialogue between companies and governments such as the United States, Japan, India, and the European Union.

New research from the University of Montana and its partners suggests artificial intelligence can match the top 1% of human thinkers on a standard test for creativity.
The study was directed by Dr. Erik Guzik, an assistant clinical professor in UM’s College of Business. He and his partners used the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking, a well-known tool used for decades to assess human creativity.
The researchers submitted eight responses generated by ChatGPT, the application powered by the GPT-4 artificial intelligence engine. They also submitted answers from a control group of 24 UM students taking Guzik’s entrepreneurship and personal finance classes. These scores were compared with 2,700 college students nationally who took the TTCT in 2016. All submissions were scored by Scholastic Testing Service, which didn’t know AI was involved.
