The symposium organised by the Institute of Future and Innovation Studies at John Cabot University and the Boston Global Forum, and is part of the “Festival of Diplomacy,” which has been one of Italy’s most important forums for international diplomacy since 2009, with the support and patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commission and European Parliament Representation in Italy, more than 70 embassies, seven universities, and numerous scientific partners. This symposium seeks to support all diplomatic efforts in the global coordination of a future vision of technological development and regulation aimed at promoting the use of technology and AI for peace, democracy, and the planet.
AGENDA
The seminar «Tech for Humanity: Open Standards, Trustworthy AI, and the Common Good» will investigate the role of open technical standards and open and FAIR data principles in promoting the safe, fair and sustainable development of Artificial Intelligence. Experts, policymakers, and representatives of civil society will convene to discuss how the development of shared technical standards and a global regulation and assessment of the fundamentals of AI systems is the only way to ensure that AI is developed for the benefit of humanity. The symposium will delve into the ethical considerations surrounding AI, and how technical standards can ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that aligns with values such as privacy, transparency, accountability, inclusivity, trustworthiness, and the general respect for human rights. The discussions will also address the role of stakeholders, including government, industry, and academia, in establishing a global alignment on technical standards, or Digital Compact. The seminar strives to promote global governance, technological diplomacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration among stakeholders groups, governmental and intergovernmental organization and standards organizations in the elaboration and application of global standards for Digital and AI in the effort of shaping the future for the common good of humanity and the planet.

Amma’s organization exists to help alleviate the burden of the poor through helping to meet each of their five basic needs—food, shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihood—wherever and whenever possible. MAM is especially focused on helping to meet these needs in the aftermath of major disasters. To date, MAM has provided free medical care to nearly six million people. It has built more than 47,000 homes for the homeless throughout India and has provided financial aid for more than one lakh people unable to care for themselves. MAM is also providing educational assistance to 50,000 students. Moreover, it is offering vocational-training, literacy-training, running orphanages, hospices, old-age homes, scholarship programs, planting trees and managing environmental-protection programs. MAM has done massive relief-and-rehabilitation work following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami as well as in response to flooding in Mumbai, Gujarat, Chennai and Bihar, Uttarakhand and Jammu-Kashmir, as well as in response to earthquakes in Kashmir, Nepal, Haiti and Japan, cyclones in West Bengal and the Philippines, and hurricanes in the United States
About Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi
Spiritual leader, humanitarian and visionary Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, known throughout the world simply as “Amma,” has served the world-community for decades, imparting wisdom, strength and inspiration. Accessible to one and all, she has embraced more than 40 million people and inspired a global volunteer-based humanitarian movement to help alleviate the burden of the poor and suffering. Under the auspices of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM), the organisation exists to help meet the five basic needs—food, shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihood—wherever and whenever possible. This is especially the case after natural disasters and civil conflicts. MAM also leads environmental projects such as tree planting and public clean-up drives. Enrico Letta was Prime Minister of Italy from 2013 to 2014.
Born on 20 August, 1966 in Pisa, Italy. Mr Letta graduated from the University of Pisa in International Law and holds a doctorate in European Community Law from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa.
He was Minister of European Affairs from 1998 to 1999 (the youngest minister in the history of the Italian Republic history of the Italian Republic, in charge of community policies at the age of 32), Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade from 1999 to 2001, Member of the European Parliament (2004-2006), then President of the Council of Ministers from April 2013 to February 2014. Mr Letta was formerly Dean of the School of International Affairs of Sciences Po Paris (PSIA) and former President of the Italian Council of Ministers.
He is currently president of the Institut Jacques Delors and Secretary of the Italian Democratic Party (since 2021). Mr Letta speaks Italian, French and English.

Abe, more than any modern political leader of Japan, paved the way for security reform in Tokyo.
During his second tenure as prime minister in the early to mid-2010s, he sparked changes. The parliament passed a state secrets law that set stiff penalties for mishandling documents and for leaking information. Abe set up a National Security Council, modeled in part after the U.S. version, to advise the prime minister.
Antiwar and civil-liberties activists protested the reforms, claiming they were infringing on privacy rights and voicing concerns about an expanding national security state. But by 2013, when the law was passed, the geopolitical landscape had shifted. The public had come to see that decades of a nominal commitment to self-defense had only emboldened a rising Beijing.
China had aggressively responded to Japan’s nationalization of the Senkaku Islands, flooding the waters off the islands with Coast Guard vessels and maritime militia. In the South China Sea, it was turning remote atolls into military outposts seemingly overnight. President Xi Jinping had come to power, accelerating a vast military modernization. Meanwhile, North Korea continued provocative nuclear tests.
Abe was assassinated in July 2022, but his legacy lives on. Over the last decade, attitudes toward China have hardened: Today, a majority of Japanese view the Chinese government unfavorably, while support for the U.S. alliance is at an all-time high.

What I wanted to emphasize is that the mandatory implementation of the nine-dash line by private companies is indeed a concern. Moreover, the underlying preparations by the Chinese Communist Party through the National Defense Mobilization Law and the Anti-Spy Law might potentially exacerbate the enforcement of the nine-dash line, as pointed out by professors and experts.”
