Egils Levits, President of Latvia (2019–2023) and former Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union, will be a Special Speaker at the Boston Global Forum Conference, New Civilization in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Human–AI Co-Creation, at Loeb House, Harvard University, on November 10, 2026.
Few leaders have shaped constitutions from so many sides. President Levits contributed to Latvia’s 1990 declaration of restored independence. He co-authored the Preamble to the Constitution of Latvia, adopted in 2014. He also served for nearly a quarter-century as a European judge, first at the European Court of Human Rights (1995–2004) and then at the Court of Justice of the European Union (2004–2019).
At the Conference, he will speak in Panel II, Constitution for Humanity in the Age of AI. He will also take part in shaping the Constitution itself, ahead of its proclamation at Loeb House on April 27, 2027. In particular, he will help address a question no constitution has faced before: how principles of human dignity and human authority can bind power over AI across borders.
During his visit for the Conference, President Levits will join the AIWS Civilization Table, A Dinner Series on Shaping the Civilization of Human–AI Co-Creation, for a conversation on AIWS Civilization and AIWS Lumina.
