Boston Global Forum Launches “Enlightenment in Action Alliance (EAA)” to Advance Ethical AI and Global Governance

Boston – December 30, 2024 – The Boston Global Forum (BGF) is pleased to announce the formation of the Enlightenment in Action Alliance (EAA), a dynamic international community of university students committed to harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the greater good. The EAA aspires to transform ideas into action by empowering young leaders around the world to collaborate on responsible AI development and innovative governance solutions.

A Global Collaboration

The EAA brings together students from leading universities in Boston (Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Brandeis, Boston College, Northeastern, Boston University), New York (Columbia, New York University), New England (Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania), Washington D.C. (Georgetown, George Washington, Johns Hopkins), Silicon Valley (Stanford, Berkeley), Los Angeles (UCLA, Caltech), Chicago (University of Chicago, Northwestern), and international hubs (London, Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Berlin, Munich, Zurich, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, Stockholm, Helsinki, Vienna, Tokyo, New Delhi, Mumbai, Taipei, Tel Aviv, and Ho Chi Minh City). This alliance unites the innovation and creativity of future leaders from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.

Mission and Focus

  • AI for Good: Champion ethical AI solutions that prioritize well-being, social equity, and human dignity.
  • Building AIWS Government 24/7: Work with governments, companies, and partners to realize the AIWS (Artificial Intelligence World Society) Government 24/7 model, enabling continuous, transparent, and compassionate governance.
  • Global Dialogue: Facilitate discussions and workshops with World Leader for Peace and Security Award recipients, World Leaders in AIWS Award recipients, distinguished leaders, policymakers, and members of the BGF network.
  • Innovation and Policy: Engage in high-level policy dialogues with organizations such as the World Leadership Alliance–Club de Madrid, the Wilson Center, and the United Nations, contributing youth perspectives to AI strategy and implementation.

Key Activities

  1. Knowledge Exchange: Joint research on AI ethics, policy frameworks, and best practices for the global adoption of AI for good.
  2. Leadership Dialogue: Direct engagement with prominent figures in governance, technology, and business, focusing on ethical leadership and forward-thinking AI applications.
  3. Summit Contributions: Participation in events such as the AI Action Summit in Paris (February 10–11, 2025), offering fresh perspectives to steer global AI advancements, including the AIWS Government 24/7 initiative and the Boston Areti AI (BAI) program.
  4. Public Outreach: Publishing articles, organizing forums, and implementing community-led projects to inform and inspire society about responsible AI practices.
  5. Collaborations with BAI & AIWS Government 24/7: EAA members will take part in the Technology Group, Knowledge Platform Group, and Connect and Learn from Outstanding Leaders, Thinkers group of the Boston Areti AI (BAI) and AIWS Government 24/7 Program, contributing research and insights to core development efforts.
