BGF forms Global Cybersecurity Journalists Network

( 09/23/ 2015) – In addition to the building of the Ethics Code of Conduct for Cyber Peace and Security as an initiative to promote a healthy cyber environment, Boston Global Forum (BGF) keeps moving ahead by announcing the formation of the Global Cybersecurity Journalist Network.

The Global Cybersecurity Journalist Network (GCJN) is created as an effort to both train qualified journalists on cybersecurity and to change global netizens’s behavior towards using Internet in a right manner.

Members of the Network will be trained about cyber and provided with related policies in order to produce informational and articulate news. They are also assisted in furthering their profession with relevant contacts and globally collected articles on cybersecurity.

Besides, the Network will work as a platform for members to speak out their voice about the cybersecurity issue and to foster cyber peace and security to the community, as well as facilitate dialogues with government officials and business leaders. And the more importance, the most outstanding journalists who have a great contribution in promotion of cyber peace and security will be introduced and honored.

The Global Cybersecurity Journalist Network is found and led by Governor Michael Dukakis, chairman of Boston Global Forum and his fellows who are experts in media and Internet: Nguyen Anh Tuan, BGF’s CEO and Editor in Chief, and Founder and Former Editor in Chief of VietNamNet e-newspaper;  Professor Thomas Patterson, Acting Director of Shorenstein on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School; John Quelch, the Charles Edward Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School; and Professor Thomas Fiedler, Dean of College of Communication at Boston University, who is also the former Executive Editor of Miami Herald  and a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Since established, the Network has attracted participation of notable, prestigious journalists and figures who were name in TIME 100 most influential people in the world, and Foreign Policy’s Top 100 Global Thinkers,  and Pulitzer Prize winners.
