The former Harvard Professor and cofounder of The Boston Global Forum

Will leave Boston for his new role as Dean of the University of Miami

School of Business Administration

Boston, July 1, 2017 — Professor John A. Quelch was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation today by The Boston Global Forum (BGF) for his role in founding the think tank whose aim is to foster peaceful solutions to world tensions. Prof. Quelch has been actively involved as a member of the board of directors of The Boston Global Forum for over five years and has contributed substantially to its achievements.

Earlier, Prof. Quelch was named dean of its School of Business Administration and vice provost for executive education of The University of Miami and will assume the post this summer.

In addition to his role with The Boston Global Forum, Dr. Quelch was the Charles Edward Wilson professor at Harvard Business School and a professor in the Department of Health and Policy Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Before joining the Harvard University faculty, Dr. Quelch was the dean, vice president and professor of international management at China Europe International Business School from 2011 to 2013, during which time its revenue increased more than 25 percent to $100 million.

He was the dean of the London Business School from 1998 to 2001.

Dr. Quelch has authored, co-authored or edited 25 books, plus numerous business case studies that have sold more than four million copies over the past 35 years.

He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Exeter College, Oxford University, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a D.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Born in London, he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2011.
