SUMMARY:Former President of Croatia visits and discusses with Governor Michael Dukakis and leaders of Boston Global Forum
DESCRIPTION:On September 24\, President of Croatia (2015-2020) Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic\, member of Nizami Ganjavi International Center\, visited and discussed with Governor Michael Dukakis and leaders of the Boston Global Forum. \nPresident Grabar-Kitarović expressed enthusiasm that the city of Dubrovnik\, with the young\, open-minded mayor Mato Franković\, can be a satellite city of AIWS City. BGF can provide advice for Dubrovnik in building AI infrastructure and legislations\, while Dubrovnik can be an ally of the AI International Accord and Law and Global Alliance for Digital Alliance. Governor Michael Dukakis invited President Grabar-Kitarovic to join the initiative of BGF in Global Alliance for Digital Governance and Global Law and Accord on AI and Digital. \nThis visit of President Grabar-Kitarovic opens a new road for opportunities between Croatia and Boston Global Forum\, especially in works to apply AIWS Ecosystem and Community Innovation Economy. \nOn September 24\, 2021\, HE. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic\, President of Croatia (2015-2020) gave a keynote speech at the United Nations Centennial Roundtable. Governor Michael Dukakis\, co-founder and Chair of the Boston Global Forum (BGF)\, was moderator\, with CEO of BGF Nguyen Anh Tuan\, and Harvard Professors Thomas Patterson and David Silbersweig as panelists. \nHere are some highlights from her speech: \n\nInequality of access to the internet is in itself a human right issue\nMany challenges relating to demographics:\n\nEducation\nHealth\nEmployment\n\n\nAny sort of global accord has to be a “coalition of the willing\,” not just of big powers. Small countries with relationships with various superstates are important links/glue/nodes in the network. For example\, when two superstates have conflicts\, the small countries with good relationships to both contending superstates can resolve the conflicts.\n\nTherefore\, the AI International Accord and Law can work on regional cooperation as stepping stone towards global cooperation.\n\n\n\n  \nThe path “Toward an Age of Global Enlightenment” has\, at its foundations\, six essential anchors upon which to develop and build viable futures for current and all generations to come – here and everywhere. \n\nThe Political and Social Order: Based on the Social Contract for the Age of Artificial Intelligence supported accountability and responsibility\nNational Law and Global Order: Framed with International Law and Global Accord for Ai and adaptations to the Digital era\nEconomic Activity with Creativity: Built upon innovation by\, and for society\, community\, and individuals: Community Innovation Economy.\nDominant Cultural Norms: Tolerance for diversity\, mutual support\, respect\, and recognition of the value of each individual\nEducation Principles: Pursuit of basic science\, technology\, social sciences\, humanities and other knowledge forms\, shaping thinking and innovating to articulate a Global Enlightenment Education Program\nInformation & Communication: Open forms of discourse\, support for diverse platforms of communication\, respect for accuracy with accountability\n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Transatlantic Approaches on Digital Governance: A New Social Contract on Artificial Intelligence
DESCRIPTION:From 27 to 29 of April\, 2020\, at Harvard University and MIT\, the World Leadership Alliance – Club de Madrid (WLA-CdM) in partnership with the Boston Global Forum (BGF) is organizing a Transatlantic and multi-stakeholder dialogue on global challenges and policy solutions in the context of the need to create a new social contract on digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI). \nOver the years\, Transatlantic relations have been characterized by close cooperation and continuous work for common interests and values. This cooperation has been essential to enhance the multilateralism system\, considering the shared principles from both sides on democracy\, rule of law\, and fairness. \nBy comparing American and European approaches in the creation of a new social contract on AI and digital governance\, under the critical eye of former democratic Heads of State or Government\, this policy dialogue will stimulate new thinking and bring out ideas from representatives of governments\, academic institutions and think tanks\, tech companies\, and civil society\, from both regions. \nAt the same time\, the discussion will generate a space to encourage and strengthen Transatlantic cooperation on the new social contract of digital governance in the framework of needed reforms of the multilateral system. Special attention will be focused to engage technological companies as key stakeholders of digital governance\, while protecting democratic mandate for public policy-makers. \nThis special event is sponsored and supported by Tram Huong Khanh Hoa.
