(BGF) – The Boston Global Forum (BGF) is pleased to announce that its first of three conferences on the topic of U.S.-Chinese-Japanese relations will take place on April 24th at 7:30 AM EST. The conference will address “The Conflict Between Japan and China: How to Solve It and the Role of the U.S.”. The conference will be moderated by Professor John Quelch, the Charles Edward Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard’s Business School and a co-founding member of the Boston Global Forum’s Board of Directors, and will feature contributions from a number of academics, practitioners, and policymakers including: Governor Michael Dukakis, Chairman of the Boston Global Forum, Professor Joseph Nye, and many others.
This conference is part of BGF’s topic of the year, which is U.S.-Chinese-Japanese relations. BGF launched this topic with an installment of the BGF Distinguished Lecture Series featuring Professor Nye, which laid out many of the key issues in the relationship and which can be viewed here. Going forward, BGF hopes this conference will build on the debates laid out by Professor Nye in his Distinguished Lecture and drive the discussion toward diplomatic solutions to the tensions between China and Japan, as well as clarifying the U.S.’s role in these tensions.
